I had a huge back and forth with deciding on applying early or regular, but decided on regular. I'm currently in the throws of my hometest, and super stressed. (You know the deal haha) I loved your solution for the clock problem! Very clever!
Yup, I've received a few acceptances- Mass Art and Maine College of Art. (: I'm still waiting on SMFA, Pratt, and I've yet to send my application for RISD. How about you???

Yeah, i also had a hard time deciding, i picked early so that i would have Christmas vacation to work on the hometest, and right now i'm in the middle of a hundred different musical obligations. so it worked out well.
did you apply early to Massart? i didn't, i still haven't heard anything from them, i'm hoping they'll send me some word of whether my application is completed or not. But congrats! i've been accepted to the school of the art institute if chicago and the school of visual arts, and i'm still waiting on pratt, massart, and cooper union, which should be coming in the mail soon... aaahhh!! people always ask me why i didn't apply to risd, i suppose because i don't think i would have been able to handle two hometests. craziness!

Naw, I didn't apply early to Massart. I'm actually kind of baffled that I heard from them so fast. I had only finished applying about 5 days before I got the letter. Maybe it's some sort of really fortunate mix-up with admissions? Anyways, based on this, I would imagine you'll be hearing from them super-dee-duper soon!! And congratulations to you, too, on being accepted into SAIC and the School of Visual Arts! That's very awesome. :]
Yeah, I think the only reason I applied to RISD was exactly what you said- when people hear that you're interested in art, the first thing they say is "ohhhhhh then you muuuussssttt have applied to RISD!" BLEH. And I couldn't agree more, the drawing assignments are a bit of a stress, too.
So, what's your top choice?

I'd say my first choice is SVA (I'm not even counting Cooper Union lol). I really want to be in New York, and when I had my portfolio review with them I really liked their take on what art should look like, as opposed to Pratt which seems more competitive but they seemed kind of narrow-minded about fine art. and it didn't help that my portolio reviewer was yawning through my review and complaining about the time. lol. But in the end it'll all depend on packages, at least between SVA and Chicago. I'm still waiting on my merit letter from SVA so I can figure out if I'll go there or if it's worth it to go visit Chicago. I'm really excited I've never been there!
Congrats on getting into MassArt! and good luck with the rest of your hometests- that must be a TON of work. wow. have you finished the one for CU yet? I'm not sure when the deadline for that is. It kinda sucks that you don't really have until that day to finish it though, because you have to mail it... I only realized that like halfway through the process... oops. btw what were the problems for the regular admission one?

ok, don't freak out, but I'm the girl who was in front of you in line at the cooper union portfolio thing way back when!
Random deviant art paroozal led me to your page. (Searched "cooper union hometest", you see.)
Also- crazy coincidence- I participated in art allstate last year, too! Wieeeeerd. I was part of the studio that made the big spider and the tape people. Fun stuff.
